My Role
Starting Point
Joined the Ignyte team during a major transition - both in branding and system architecture. Initially focused on frontend development using React, Tailwind CSS, React Query, and Hook Form. The goal was to modernize the interface and improve user flows while the rest of the system caught up.
Shifting Roles
Soon realized that backend development (written in C#) was a bottleneck due to limited resources. With my experience in Django, database design, and system architecture, I moved into a full-stack role to help keep the project moving forward. This shift let me contribute to both UI work and backend logic.
Improvements
One of the first major tasks was to enable company creation from the user side, which previously required manual work through internal tools. This involved changes across the stack - UI, APIs, permissions, and some database logic. As the system evolved, I worked on several core modules like:
- Investor profiles
- Mentorship and booking flow
- Pitch management
- User onboarding
Legacy code and data models made things messy. I designed custom backfills, introduced SQL views to safely decouple old logic, and made the system more flexible to support business requirements that were still evolving.
Productivity & Automation
C# development was noticeably slower than what I was used to, so I created a number of internal scripts to automate repetitive backend tasks. These saved time for the whole team and made debugging and testing much easier.
Ownership & Collaboration
As the project grew, I began leading teams of 6–10 developers for different features. This included working with cross-functional teams, reviewing product specs, managing Azure deployments, and overseeing production releases. I also made sure engineering and product decisions stayed aligned.
Final Impact
As of August 2025, Ignyte has more than:
- 5,000+ startups
- 300+ mentors
- 100+ investors
The platform has become a full-fledged ecosystem for startup development, and I had grown into a key part of the delivery and decision-making process.
